Large baskets can make rooms more tidy
As a busy wife, mother, interior designer, and business owner, one thing I desperately need in my life is organization. Without a neat, tidy, well-organized home, life tends to become a little chaotic to say the least. One of the items I find myself using over and over to help with organization is baskets. They truly are so very versatile. I can use them to store toys, pillows, blankets, laundry, and even rug samples in our design studio. They offer the perfect solution to storing things neatly, all while looking beautiful- which is a designer’s dream.
The first way I like to incorporate large + oversized baskets is in the bathroom. Here, I like to place a large basket next to the bathtub, roll up bath towels, and place them inside. This creates a luxurious aesthetic, and is functional as well. No need to go looking for a towel after getting out of the shower or bathtub. It is also a great reminder when it is time to wash the towels and refill the basket when the towels begin to dwindle down. Form + function wins every time.
The second way I like to incorporate baskets is using them as storage for pillows and throws. I am always changing out my décor pillows depending on the mood or season, so it is nice to have a place to put the extras that are not in use. Once again, these baskets become an element of my décor that serve as storage too.
Lastly, when it comes to our design studio, we are often overflowing with fabric and rug samples. A large décor basket helps us to house many of these oversized samples that we will need for years to come. I often say a well-run business is a well-organized business. If I can do that in a beautiful way, it is a win-win situation.
